Privacy

What we do with your information.

We use the information you give us to build your website and communicate with you. With your cookie consent, we also measure how the site and our advertising perform.

What we collect

  • What you tell us about your business — your name, trade, area and anything else you send us for the website. On this site you message Pauline, a real person here at Laneway; that conversation is stored and is used to build your preview and your website.
  • How to reach you — your email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
  • Visit and advertising information, if you consent — pages viewed, buttons used, completed enquiries, purchases, referral or campaign information and similar measurement data.

Why we collect it

We use your conversation and enquiry information to build your website, send you the preview and deal with your order — that processing is necessary to provide the service you asked for. If you accept analytics and advertising cookies, we use measurement data to understand which pages and ads work and to measure enquiries and sales.

Analytics and advertising tools

If you accept tracking cookies, Laneway uses Google Analytics 4 and the Meta Pixel. These services may set or read cookies and receive information about your visit so that we can measure traffic, enquiries, purchases and advertising performance.

We may also send conversion events to Meta from our systems where you have consented, so a completed enquiry or purchase can be attributed more reliably to an advertisement.

Your cookie choice

Analytics and advertising tracking is off until you accept it. You can reject it and continue using the site normally. You can also change your choice later using Cookie settings in the footer.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information. We don't add you to an email marketing list unless you separately ask to receive marketing.

We never ask for card details before you have seen a preview of your website. When you do pay, payment is handled by Stripe and your card number does not pass through Laneway's systems. We also never ask for — and you should never send — passwords or login details for any of your accounts.

How long we keep it

If you become a customer, we keep your conversation, order details and the content you send us for as long as you're a customer, because they're what your ongoing service runs on — plus whatever accounting law requires us to retain (typically six years for invoicing records).

If you don't go ahead, we delete the conversation and business information you sent us within 90 days unless we need to keep a limited record for legal or security reasons.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask us for a copy of personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, object to certain processing, restrict it or ask us to delete it where the law allows. Email info@shovelstone.com.

If you're not happy with how we handle personal data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
