Terms of Service

The deal, in plain English.

No fine print hidden at the bottom. This is the whole arrangement, and you can read it before paying a cent.

Who we are

Laneway is a web design studio operated from Cavan, Ireland. These terms, together with the offer described on this site, are the whole agreement between us. Irish law applies.

What the €95 buys

One payment of €95 buys, for the first year: a complete website designed and built for your business and kept live for twelve months; your own domain name, registered in your name; hosting; business email on your own domain; and thirty social media posts, written for you and delivered as a batch alongside a Facebook page set up for your business.

The €95 website does not include an online shop or payment facilities. If you'd like one, that's a separate build — we'll discuss your needs and quote it fairly before anything starts.

The two delivery promises

  • Preview: within 48 hours. After you describe your business to us, we put a real visual preview of your website in front of you within 48 hours, free, with no card details taken. The preview shows the look and feel; it is not the finished product.
  • Delivery: within 5 working days. After you pay, we ask you once for everything we need — your details, photos, content — in a single checklist. Your finished website goes live within 5 working days of us receiving your complete details. The clock starts when your details arrive, not at payment, so taking your time to gather them never costs you any of the five days.

If something on our side delays either promise, we tell you rather than go quiet.

When and how you pay

You pay only after you have seen your preview and decided to go ahead. Payment is by card through Stripe; your card details never pass through our systems. There is no subscription and no direct debit. If you do nothing after seeing the preview, it comes down and you owe nothing.

Starting work immediately, and your cancellation rights

Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, a consumer buying a service at a distance normally has 14 days to cancel. Because you want your website quickly, we don't wait those 14 days to start.

By paying, you expressly request that we begin performing the service immediately, within the 14-day cancellation period, and you acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed — that is, once your finished website has been delivered and made live — you lose the right to cancel.

If you cancel after paying but before your website has been delivered, we may charge a proportionate amount for the work already done up to the point you told us, and refund the remainder. Because most of the work happens immediately after your details arrive, that proportion can be substantial. Once your website is delivered and live, the service is fully performed and no refund is due.

None of this affects your statutory rights where a service is not carried out with reasonable skill and care — if something we delivered is genuinely defective, tell us and we will put it right.

Changes after delivery

  • Small factual updates are free, forever — new opening hours, a phone number, an address, a spelling fix, a price change on something already on the site. Message us and it's done, for as long as you're with us.
  • Three larger change rounds are free after delivery — moving things around, colours, rewording. Not rebuilds, not new pages.
  • Anything beyond that — new pages, new content, further batches of social posts — is separate work, priced fairly and always quoted and agreed before it starts. Nothing is ever built and then billed.

What you own

The domain name is registered in your name from the start — you are the registrant, not us. The business email is a real inbox on your own domain. Once your site is delivered, the website files are yours. You can move the domain, the email and the files to another provider whenever you like, and we'll help you do it without charging for the move. There is no lock-in of any kind.

We keep the right to mention that we built your website and to show it in our own portfolio. If you'd rather we didn't, tell us and we won't.

After the first year

Nothing renews automatically. If you want to keep going: domain and hosting together cost €45 a year, and business email costs €15 a year. We remind you before anything falls due. If you do nothing, the domain, hosting and email simply lapse at the end of the year — and the files remain yours.

What you're responsible for

  • That the information you give us is accurate — your prices, your opening hours, your qualifications.
  • That you have the right to use any photos, logos or text you send us.
  • Keeping safe any credentials handed over to you.

We will never ask you for a password, an API key, or login details for any account of yours, and you shouldn't send them. Anything that needs an account in your name is set up by you, in your name.

What we won't build

We won't build a website for anything illegal or anything designed to mislead people. We'll say no plainly and refund anything paid.

If something goes wrong

Tell us. We'll fix what we can. If your website is offline because of something on our side, we'll sort it and extend your year by the time you lost. We can't be held responsible for money you didn't make, and our total liability is limited to what you actually paid us.

Getting in touch

Email info@shovelstone.com or message us on WhatsApp. We're based in Ireland and Irish law applies. If we ever need to change these terms, the change applies to new orders, not retroactively to yours.
